The government has expanded the list of children's goods subject to VAT at a reduced rate of 10%

 The list includes such Russian-made goods as wooden playpens, metal and plastic beds and beds made of other materials, including reed, vine or bambooDecree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 594 dated 04/14/2023 "On Amendments to the list of codes of types of goods for children in accordance with the All-Russian Classifier of Products by types of Economic Activity Subject to Value Added tax at a tax rate of 10 percent when sold" was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin."Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on expanding the list of children's goods, which are subject to a reduced rate of value added tax (VAT) to 10%. The decision will support domestic producers and increase the availability of goods for children.", - said in a statement.Now the VAT rate reduced to 10% applies to such Russian-made goods as wooden playpens, metal and plastic beds and beds made of other materials, including reeds, vines or bamboo. Amendments were made to the Government Resolution No. 908 of December 31, 2004.As noted in the Cabinet of Ministers, such measures are aimed at implementing the action plan for the development of the children's goods industry, which was approved by the government in 2020. The main purpose of this document is to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of goods for children, as well as to increase the share of domestic products in the Russian market.The document will enter into force on July 1, 2023.
